I'm a little late on this post but oh well, here it goes;
Kaylee continues to be our little spirited one. She is our very independent, strong willed, big blue eyed little girl. She knows it too:) Some days she tells up she is princess, other days she tells us she is a big girl. Other days when she isn't getting what she wants;
(i.e. because she is "too big", or "not a baby anymore")
she tells us she still IS a baby. Depends on her mood, the time of day, and if she is tired/sick, ect.
She really has taught us to stay on our toes, and to always, ALWAYS remember she has a say in everything too! She is a great little helper and loves to be involved in what ever is going on.
She may be the second child but she will not be over looked or left behind. Its kinda funny because the other side of her strong personality is this quiet shy side. She has a petite little voice and is shy when she doesn't have us around. Proof in point, we had conferences with her teacher and they just raved about how quiet she is, but then when the other kids take her toys or mess with her projects she isn't afraid to let them know!
Kaylee still is Gavin's shadow but she does like to play with her dolls. She is a loving little mother to them and they get lots of attention when she plays with them. Otherwise she is into everything Gavin loves, and she is fighting with Gavin to get at what he has. She can be such a little stinker sometimes. They are either the best of friends or the worst of friends,
depending on the day.
Kaylee size wise is still really small. Clothes are moving out of 18months to a 2T and sometimes 3T.
Shoe size is a 5, Kaylee prefers to dress herself and put her own shoes on. Even though she can't complete it she still has to try and only receives help when she asks for not, don't bother offering because she won't take you up on the offer:) She is way ahead of Gavin who could care less who dresses him or even if he gets dressed, boys and girls are soooo different. Kaylee still has not had a haircut yet, I'm still holding on. Her baby mullet, party in the back and business in the front is growing out but slowly. If you do her hair it looks really cute, but if you don't do her hair its a hot mess
Stats;
Kaylee loves to sing and loves her nursery rhymes. She amazes us with her conversations, sentences and questions. She has really excelled in this area. She loves to count and can be heard arguing with Gavin over which number is next, right or not. This one can really put up a good tantrum if she is in the mood and adds screeching to top it off. Gavin has learned to cover his ears, haha! But once she is over her tantrum she quickly returns to being our sweet lovable little girl.
Kaylee has been potty trained since September, but is still dealing with accidents. We had the same issues with Gavin so we are hoping this will pass sooner than later, but its nice to not have diapers anymore!
We are still working on getting rid of the paci, its down to naps and bedtime only. We also need to start the transition out of the crib but Kaylee seems pretty content so no rush yet but something we need to start looking into. Kaylee continues to be the BEST sleeper ever. She is starting to fight naps but her attitude definitely reflects a no nap day, so hopefully she doesn't decide to drop them just yet.
Kaylee continues to be a great eater. Much better than Gavin, but she will refuse to eat something if Gavin is throwing a fit about how he doesn't like it. She likes spicy foods, surprisingly, and also loves to eat off our plates instead of her own. She LOVES juice and would just drink juice or water if we let her. Milk pretty much has to be given to her or she will take it if Gavin is drinking it. She still loves to eat and drink but prefers to graze throughout the day instead of eating a full meal. Little stinker loves to snack, snack, snack.
Her love for doughnuts is unreal, however she just likes the frosting, the rest not so much:)
Can't believe we have a 3 year old coming up soon.....
