It's hard to believe our first born is four years old!!! Its seems like yesterday we brought our tiny 5lb 11oz baby home:) He is growing like crazy, talking all the time and really letting us know his opinion! He still loves to watch little einsteins & jake and the neverland pirates. Gavin is riding his bike (training wheels) all by himself. He is really doing well in swim lessons. He loves going to daycare to play with friends. He brings home a ton of artwork and stories to share, but only if he feels like sharing. Otherwise you tells you "I don't know what I did today". Little turkey.
Gavin is still our laid back child, not too much gets him worked up besides his sister trying to play with his toys! This usually results in him picking her up and carrying her towards the opposite direction of where she wants to be. (we all know this DOES NOT go over well with Kaylee) Slowly he is starting to learn how to deal with her but its hard when she tries to play with him and then proceeds to knock down the tower of legos he just built:)
Food is getting really challenging with this one. He has his likes and he has a lot of dislikes! He still does not like to eat meat, we thought this would be a phase, geez. He loves peanut butter and jelly, pasta with no sauce (bow tie pasta to be exact), cheese of any sort, yogurt, apples, carrots, banana's, cereal (he loves cereal). He is not a fan of mac and cheese (neither of them are actually), some days chicken nuggets/fish sticks other days not so much. We are constantly trying to offer his new foods but he is pretty resistant when it comes to likes and dislikes. We have also put him in a cooking class as he loves to help out in the kitchen, fingers crossed something will click here in the near the future.
Gavin loves to do art projects at home or at daycare. He is starting to want to color more, and we are working on the his fine motor stills with cutting, coloring, glue stick etc. They do a lot of this at daycare. Gavin loves to be the "bestest big helper around here" and really does well with following directions and putting his "listening ear on". He continues to love being at the playground and playing with the other kids. He likes to go to the swimming pool to practice his skills. Gavin usually goes down for bed pretty easy, brush teeth read a story and be sure to have his blue blanket then he is out. He decided he no longer wanted his music box at night so we switched with Kaylee. Gavin has the night light lady bug (it reflects the constellations on the ceiling) and Kaylee got the music box. It works with Kaylee as she prefers it to be dark anyways.
Stats will be added when this mom makes a 4 year appt, opps!
Otherwise for clothing Gavin is 4T (except pants 3T) and shoe size is 8 going into 9! Gavin has had the potty training down pat for a while but still having pull ups at night. He is waking up dry more than wet, so we are headed in the right direction.
the water table had to get replaced with a new one
birthday waffles and bed head, so cute!
getting happy birthday sung to him
blowing out the first set of candles for the day
cheese face
We took him to Target a week before his birthday and he picked out this race track
helping Daddy put together his new scooter
Cake was decorated mostly by myself and Gavin, he asked for a white cake with white frosting and LOTS of sprinkles
best attempt at a family pic, everyone but Kaylee was happy she wanted to touch the cake and was being told too many times "no" for her liking.
that fourth candle proved to be tricky
our little four year old:)
this kid can put away the cake when he sets his mind to it
more cake a day later
*The cake lasted about a day before I cut it all up and refrigerated it. Miss Kaylee would throw a complete fit/tantrum whenever she saw it because she thought she got a piece of cake every time she saw it. Crazy girl, definitely puts meaning behind "out of sight, out of mind"

We headed out to chuck e cheese for his birthday and played hard. This weekend we are going to the zoo for his birthday, we waited for Grandpa and Grandma to make it into town for the winter:)
