Gavin got his finger fixed this past week, and we are glad to report he did awesome!!!! We didn't expect anything less. His pointer finger on his left hand has been growing at out the wrong angle so we decided to get it straightened out. It ended up being an outpatient surgery at the children's hospital, we checked in at 830 and we where heading home by 1130. Gavin was very out of it for the morning but throughout the afternoon we were struggling to keep him from jumping and rolling around. We got lots of movies in anticipation of having to lay low and its been anything but! Gavin has a big soft cast right now and on Monday (one week later) he will get a smaller hard one below his elbow for 3 weeks. They placed a pin in his finger after they rebroke it to line it up correctly and this pin will come out in 3 weeks too. So far Gavin has had very little pain and quickly figured out Kaylee can be kept at bay with a quick swing of the arm!! Good for him, not so much for Kaylee, so we need to referee them even more closely now:)

The hardest part of this whole deal has been trying to keep the Gavin's cast clean and dry. Gavin loves to make a huge mess and PHX in the summer time consists of lots of pool time/splash pads/ watertable fun/ water sprinklers/etc.... basically water in general. Plus the heat also makes the cast itchy so we are trying to stay cool as well. It will be a lot easier to wrap up the smaller cast to since it will be below his elbow so we are all looking foreward to Monday!
