wkend (get-out-of-this-heat) trip

We decided to pack up and head up north this past weekend mainly because we just had to get out of this heat.  Our forecast lately has been extreme, anywhere up to 114 degrees....Yuck!  So we headed up in the morning on Saturday and came home Sunday afternoon.  We basically had no plans except to get the kids outdoors again, haha!  We ended up taking in lots of playgrounds/parks, and ended up getting Gavin out to an outdoor park with animals.  This poor kid has been asking to go to the zoo for weeks now. 

We ended up in Willaims for the night,  you can see the clouds in the sky, it has just down poured 15 min. prior.  The temp was in the 60's so we got to wear out sweatshirts:)

Williams is wild west themed, so we took in a staged "gunfight" in the streets.  Here is one of the cowboys trying to show Gavin how to give "knuckles"  Gavin wasn't too impressed, haha

The next day we got up early to take in Bearizona, which is a huge outdoor park that you drive through and see various wildlife as they walk or play by your car.  They caution you to close all car windows around the bear and wolf areas, duh!  The earlier you go in the morning the more likely you will see the animals up and moving before it gets hot.  We lucked out and saw a ton of animals most pretty close to the car, Gavin loved it:)

Then they had a petting zoo/animal nursery at the end of the park where you got out of your car and walked around the exhibits.

This was a cave you walked through to look inside the actual bear cave, Gavin wasn't too sure about following his Dad through it but he eventually did run through it

Then we headed back to Flag to take Gavin back to the train station to watch the trains.  He loved loved it.  Again no picture of Kaylee needed b/c she was sleeping in the bjorn:)
