This year we did not have the luxury of hanging out at the cabin, so we decided to bring both kids out in 100+ degree temps to see the fireworks display in person. So glad we did it (both kids loved it) but OMG was it hot. I think by the time it ended at 10 pm, the temp dipped down to 97, ugh! The joys of summer in Phoenix, oh well. They had a kid zone with all the inflatable bouncers turned into water slides/slip and slides, unfortunately for Gavin he was just a little too small. He braved it up to the top by himself but once up there he got a little scared, AJ had to go up and help him down (we didn't bring our swimsuits so this was interesting). They also had entertainment, fire engines, horses, basically a bunch of kiddie stuff. Both kids did really really well considering the temps and the huge crowds too. I was surprised both kids did so well with the fireworks. Kaylee ooo'd and awww'd (is that a word??) and Gavin was totally into the loud noises and colors. It was fun but a long night, with all the people there we were stuck in a traffic jam until almost 11pm, Gotta love it.....I think if we had the chance though we would rather be at the lake:)

Of course Gavin started doing his potty dance halfway through the fireworks, why not???
